Alyssa and Ryan met thanks to their friend Jen - and also a little help from Hinge - in January 2022. After talking off the app for a few weeks, Ryan finally asked Alyssa out for dinner on February 18th. They were both excited all week, but on the big day, Ryan got stuck at work. Some might say this was a glimpse into what Alyssa'a future would be like. Ryan assured Alyssa he was on his way, but let's be real, she was probably running late too and it was nice to have Ryan take the fall.

Despite running late, Ryan decided to stop for flowers because his mother raised him right. In a stroke of luck (or pity), the people in line let him cut ahead, seeing his desperation to impress his future wife. He finally picked Alyssa up over an hour late, and they made it to the restaurant just in time to order before the kitchen closed. Alyssa pretended to read the menu, but had already carefully reviewed it ahead of time.

They talked until the staff had to resort to stacking up chairs to get them out of there. They continued the conversation outside Alyssa'a apartment, where they shared their first kiss. The event sent a selfie to Jen, proving her matchmaking skills were top-notch. Ryan scored a second date a few days later, and then 911 days later, he asked Alyssa to marry him at the same restaurant they shared their first date.

With the help of their families, Ryan pulled off the most beautiful surprise and without hesitation, Alyssa said "YES!"

Alyssa and Ryan have since moved to Lexington, KY where they are enjoying life with their golden retriever, Stryker! They are so excited to tie the knot in January alongside their family and friends!
